Measuring for a Boat Cover

If your boat isn't listed in our database, you'll need to consult our semi-custom boat cover chart. In addition, you'll need to know your boat's LOA (Length Over All) and it's beam (width). While you can usually obtain these measurements from the boat manufacturer, you'll still be better off measuring your boat for yourself.

For LOA, you need the measurement from the very front of the hull to the very back. Be sure to include the bow pulpit and swimming platform in that measurement. If you happen to have a jack plate installed, add the size of that to your hull measurement. For the beam, measure the width of your boat where the hull is at its widest.

While you don't need a micrometer, getting as close as you can to the true measurements helps assure that you'll end up with a good fit. Center consoles, windshields and/or cabins can get in the way of an accurate measurement. If your boat is on a trailer, simply tape a string to the front and back of your boat, then run the tape measure from string to string. Do the same from side to side.Armed with accurate information, you will end up with a well-fitting semi-custom boat cover that provides you with years of protection.
